Agios Panteleimonas (Saint Panteleimon) cemetery sits high on a hill overlooking the port of the city of Mytilene. It is the final resting place of asylum seekers who drowned in the Aegean Sea since 2006. Christos is the manager of the cemetery. Mary and angel statues and high white crosses reaching into the blue sky. On every grave a photo a burning candle, flowers and incense. We come all the way to the end where it seems like a waste place. 'Here are the refugees' Christos points out. On the ground, I see flat pieces of stone with numbers on it. A bear is laying up side down in the Greek earth 'A baby which we do not know the name of' Christos says.
